Facility Superintendent – Mississauga

We are currently looking to hire a Facility Superintendent to start immediately in the Brampton Area. The hours for this position are 11:00 AM to 7:30 PM, with a starting pay rate of $23 per hour.

Responsibilities for Facility Superintendent:

  • Directs and coordinates the maintenance of site distribution.
  • Repair, maintenance and installation of machines, grounds and utility systems.
  • Responsible for managing and coordinating regular Maintenance/Emergency Service for Equipment, Systems and Building services.
  • Handle regular and emergency type work requests for equipment and systems.
  • Troubleshooting and assisting (overseeing) trades to complete repairs to systems, building services, and equipment in a timely manner.
  • Schedule, assign, and perform duties with trade of electrical, painting, carpentry, plumbing, heating / ventilating, roofing and security.
  • Responsible for monitoring landscaping, office, janitorial, housekeeping, and security performance and cleanliness.
  • Inspect buildings, sites and equipment for needed repair and maintenance work.
  • Work with the Facility Manager to oversee the delivery of services.
  • Ensure accurate collection of all maintenance records manually and within computerized maintenance program.

Requirements for Facility Superintendent:

  • 5 years’ experience in the related fields of warehouse operation.
  • Formal apprenticeship program or related technical diploma.
  • Previous extensive experience in maintenance supervisory role would be an asset.
  • Possess thorough knowledge of material handling equipment, cold storage equipment, HVAC, fire protection equipment’s, domestic water supply, generator, electrical system etc.
  • Must have working knowledge of government regulations pertaining to warehouse operations. Must have experience in maintaining and execution of compliance related work orders.
  • Possess good leadership skills and the ability to supervise the work of others. Must be able to motivate and work with and through others to achieve desired results.
  • Basic knowledge of Project management skills such as scope, time, cost and quality management would be beneficial.
  • Possess good communication skills, both verbal and written. Deal effectively with a wide variety of people both in person and over the telephone.
  • Requires the analytical ability to handle administrative duties and mental alertness to ensure accurate, safe, and thorough completion of work activities. Possess ability to concentrate and deal with frequent interruptions
