Maintenance Mechanic - 4 month assignment

About Our Client

Our client is a manufacturer of pork and beef products located in the Vaughan area, and they are growing and growing. They are looking for a team-focused individual to work with them on a temp-to-perm assignment. This is a cold working environment but a warm-hearted company.

What You Will Be Doing, as a Maintenance Mechanic

  • Preventative Maintenance: Regularly inspect, lubricate, and adjust equipment to prevent breakdowns.
  • Troubleshooting and Diagnosis: Identify the cause of mechanical malfunctions and diagnose problems using various tools and techniques.
  • Repairs and Replacements: Repair or replace damaged or worn-out parts using hand and power tools.

Freezer = negative 18 degrees
Warehouse = negative 2 degrees
Production Area = 0 degrees

What You Should Have, as a Maintenance Mechanic

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Mechanical Knowledge: Understanding of mechanical principles, systems, and equipment.
  • Troubleshooting: Ability to identify and diagnose mechanical problems.
  • Repair and Maintenance: Skills in performing routine maintenance, repairs, and replacements.
  • Welding and Fabrication: Knowledge of welding and fabrication techniques.
  • Blueprint Reading: Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications.
  • Forklift license an asset
  • Attention to detail.
  • Good verbal communication
  • Able to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Must pass a criminal background check.

In Return, You Will Receive:

  • $26/hour, Paid weekly, every Friday. 1 week behind
  • Opportunity for permanent hire
  • 4% vacation pay – accrued and paid out when you need it
  • Access to a Vertical Representative Monday to Friday 8am to 11pm and on weekends

The Shift You Will be Working is:

  • Monday to Friday
  • 5am - 2pm - (1/2 hour unpaid lunch)
  • Overtime after 42 hours
  • Where You Will Be Working, as a Maintenance Mechanic:
  • Jane and Rutherford
  • not bus accessible for 5am
