What you will be doing as a Buyer 
 
  • Sourcing and management of Logistics & Transportation 
  • Quote summarization and analysis.
  • Commodity negotiation strategies including Terms and Conditions. 
  • Supplier selection/de-selection, of buy parts, outside services and supply chain solutions.  Including vendor development, management, and supplier consignment, etc.
  • Develop an overall vendor base 
  • Supplier visits/ onsite assessments and audits as required
  • Analyze, review and critique contracts, agreements.
  • Timely, accurate quote generation, provide pricing/ feedback to internal customers
  • Quote log maintenance
  • Purchase Order Approvals 
  • Purchase Order documents 
  • PO Issuance 
  • Maintain and Update PO File 
  • Any other duties and projects assigned
 
What you should have as a Buyer:  
 
  • Diploma from a college or technical school specializing in Purchasing, Materials Management or Business plus a minimum 3 years of related experience 
  • Knowledge of purchasing practices and supply chain activities, the functions of sourcing, including the transformation of natural resources, raw materials (steel), manufacturing materials & processes, components/ fasteners, tubing, plating and painting processes which relate to a finished product.
  • Audit leader for IATF audits, facilitate any required external audits
  • Staying relevant on current legislation, regulations and licenses 
  • analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents is required. 
  • Must have Advanced Math Skills
  • Microsoft Office,
  • Excel, Word, and Power Point. 
  • The ability to negotiate at all levels 
  • demonstrating professionalism when dealing with customers and suppliers is required.

  • Valid driver’s license and passport
  • Ability to travel to suppliers and facilities in Canada, USA and Mexico

  • Monday to Friday
