Forklift Operator – Temporary to Permanent

About Our Client

Located in Beamsville, ON, our client is an industry leader specializing in custom skylight fabrication and installation. With a strong reputation for quality and innovation, they are seeking a Forklift Operator to join their metal fabrication team. This is a great opportunity to work under the guidance of a highly experienced shipping and receiving team in a dynamic and supportive environment.

What You’ll Be Doing as a Forklift Operator:
  • Ensures that policies and procedures regarding workplace safety (e.g., forklift safety, securing trailers while loading/unloading, etc.), environmental protection and optimal use of resources are strictly adhered to at all times, and that shipping staff perform their work in a safe manner.
  • Obtains daily work instructions and documents (e.g., pick notes) from the Shipping Manager
  • Performs safe and accurate loading of orders for shipments, and unloading of receivables
  • Performs general physical activities to load, unload, sort and move shipments by hand or using material handling equipment
  • Packs, seals, and labels materials to prepare for shipping
  • Puts away received materials and finished production materials in the correct location
  • Moves goods into and out of warehouses
  • Performs daily required safety checks on material handling equipment (e.g., forklift)
  • Completes daily shipping/receiving logs and activity reports, and any other required documentation
  • Reports any damages, inventory deviations, etc.
  • Other duties as required
What You’ll Need to Succeed as a Forklift Operator:
  • Minimum 3 year of experience in a forklift position with counterbalance and Raymond reach (BOTH ARE MANDATORY)
  • Experience working in a metal fabrication environment a strong asset 
  • Must have your own reliable vehicle – this is not bus accessible 
  • Strong attention to detail and technical aptitude
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs when needed
  • Comfortable following verbal and written instructions in English
  • Must wear CSA-approved safety footwear
  • Strong communication skills and a positive attitude
In Return, You Will Receive:
  • $21.40 per hour + 4% vacation pay (accrued and paid out upon request)
  • Full-time hours with the opportunity for long-term placement for the right candidate
  • Ongoing support from a dedicated Vertical Staffing Representative (Mon–Fri, 8am–5pm)
 
The Shift You Will be Working is:
  • Monday to Friday
  • 8:00am to 4:30pm
