Event Staff - Multiple Positions (Temporary/Day Position)

What You Will Be Doing, as an Event Staff:
We are hiring for a wide variety of roles to support Calgary’s most anticipated summer golf tournament! During your interview, we will match you to the position that best suits your skills and experience. Available opportunities include:
- Hospitality & Guest Services:
- Golf Cart Drivers: Assisting with guest transportation, particularly around the registration areas.
- Buffet Attendants & Bussers: Setting up buffet stations, maintaining food presentation, and clearing tables to keep dining areas pristine.
- Runners: Transporting food, beverages, and supplies to various venues (must be able to carry a minimum of 50 lbs upstairs).
- Setup / Teardown Labor: Assisting with the physical setup and daily teardown of event-related spaces, tents, furniture, and equipment.
- Bar & Beverage (Concession & Private Hosted Venues):
- Bartenders (Concessions / Credit Bar / Hosted / Private Venues): Mixing, pouring, and serving beverages while maintaining highly professional service standards.
- Barbacks (Concessions & Hosted): Supporting bartenders by keeping ice, glassware, and inventory fully stocked.
- Cocktail Servers (Concessions / Credit Bar / Hosted / Private Venues): Taking and delivering drink orders directly to guests in public and VIP areas.
- Culinary & Back of House:
- Chefs (Main Kitchen) & Action Chefs (Catering Venue): Preparing high-volume gourmet meals and operating live cooking/carving stations for guests.
- Grill Cooks & Prep Cooks: Managing grill stations, prepping fresh ingredients, and supporting kitchen leadership.
- Dishwashers: Ensuring all kitchenware, plates, and utensils are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized.
- Concessions & Cashiers:
- Processing transactions, managing credit card payments, and operating point-of-sale (POS) systems at concession stands.
Other duties as assigned.
What You Should Have, as an Event Staff:
- Previous experience in hospitality, culinary, customer service, or event-based roles is highly preferred (specific culinary and beverage roles require proven experience).
- ProServe certification is strictly required for all alcohol-handling positions (Bartenders, Barbacks, and Cocktail Servers).
- Ability to stand, walk, and remain active outdoors/indoors for long periods of time.
- Physical capability corresponding to your role (e.g., Runners must be able to carry 50 lbs upstairs; setup/teardown requires heavy lifting).
- Excellent customer service skills with a positive, team-oriented attitude.
- Attention to detail and good verbal communication.
- Able to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Must pass a criminal background check.
In Return, You Will Receive:
- $18.00 to $20.00 per hour (based on role and experience).
- The unique opportunity to work behind the scenes at a prestigious, high-profile golf tournament!
- Paid weekly, every Tuesday.
- 4% vacation pay – accrued and paid out when you need it.
- Access to a Vertical Representative Monday to Friday 8am to 11pm and on weekends.
The Shift You Will be Working is:
- Monday, August 17 to Sunday, August 23, 2026.
- Daytime shifts (exact shift times will vary based on tournament and venue schedules; schedule flexibility is key).
- Full week availability (including weekends) is required, and overtime opportunities may be available.
Where You Will Be Working, as an Event Staff:
- 14th Street SW & Canyon Meadows Drive SW (Calgary, AB).
- This location is transit accessible via Calgary Transit (buses connect directly from the Canyon Meadows CTrain station). However, having a reliable vehicle or alternative transportation is highly recommended for those assigned to early morning shifts.
