Installation Technician (Temporary to Permanent)
About Our Client
Our client is a leading provider in the visual communications industry, specializing in the end-to-end design, manufacturing, and installation of diverse signage solutions across North America. They are known for handling complex projects ranging from digital displays to large-scale architectural signage.
What You Will Be Doing, as an Installation Technician :
- Mounting and installing various types of signage, including fascia, channel letters, vinyl, pylons, and awnings.
- Safely loading, transporting, and unloading signs, tools, and materials to and from installation sites.
- Preparing installation sites by removing old signage, prepping surfaces, and securing electrical connections.
- Reviewing blueprints, drawings, and work order specifications to determine layout and installation procedures.
- Operating aerial platform equipment such as scissor lifts and boom lifts safely and effectively.
- Utilizing hand and power tools while strictly adhering to measurements and all safety protocols.
- Performing necessary maintenance and repairs on signs as needed.
- Providing documentation of daily visual inspections of trucks and trailers and maintaining accurate record-keeping.
What You Should Have, as an Installation Technician :
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an installation technician or similar role.
- Licensing: Valid commercial driver’s license (Class 1/3) with a clean driving abstract.
- Physical Capabilities: Must be comfortable working at heights and performing strenuous labor, including lifting and climbing.
- Environmental Adaptability: Ability to work in harsh and varying weather conditions.
- Technical Skills: Mechanical aptitude with the ability to operate hand and power tools and a basic knowledge of electrical components.
- Safety Mindset: A sound understanding of construction and installation techniques and a constant consciousness of safety hazards.
- Availability: Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and overnight travel as needed.
- Certifications: 0-8 ton Crane operator’s certificate is required.
In Return, You Will Receive:
- Pay Rate: $2\32.00 per hour.
- Overtime: Eligibility for overtime pay.
- Paid weekly, week after on Fridays
- Vacation: 4% vacation pay, accrued and paid out when you need it.
- Support: Access to a Vertical Representative Monday to Friday (8 am to 11 pm) and on weekends
The Shift You Will be Working is:
- Days: Monday to Friday.
- Hours: 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m..
- Flexibility: Must be willing to work extended hours or weekends as required by project needs.
Where You Will Be Working, as an Installation Technician :
- Location: Calgary, Alberta.
- Environment: This is an on-site position requiring travel to various client locations
